So I found out there was a badminton club conveniently close to where I live. And I decided to check it out. Turns out, it was a tournament night and the place was packed. The guy I was talking, Kenny, showed me the place first so I would get a feel on how things are going.
It's been a long time since I've played badminton. At least 3 years ago. We played when I was still in Iowa, and another Filipino who was there at that time and I dominated the games. We weren't that good, but we were the best team there. So, it's very good to know that I'll be picking up the game that I have learned to love. It's like going back home.
Before I could sign the membership form, however, the tournament was about to start. The beginner's bracket was missing one player, and I so happen to be there at the correct time. I couldn't believe they were asking me to play. I was in jeans and a shirt at that time--not to mention kinda out of shape.
Anyway, I played about 5 sets, and I was so tired and sore at the end of it. Even though I played in the beginner's bracket, the people I played with were pretty good. And I lost each game I played in. Not bad for a first day.
After that, I signed the membership papers, paid the fees, and officially became a member.

On the same day, I got my camera at last! Anyway, I took a few pictures of my immediate surroundings.
Here's the apartment I share with. It has a nice living room.
The kitchen's kinda small though.
And here I am... after the tiring badminton session. And I'm trying to grow a goatee as long as it's comfortable.
