real Man #1

I was planning on delaying writing this post for a few days, but it has just to be written. When a woman is about to give birth, it simply _has_ to be done. It cannot be delayed. In the same way, I'm compelled to write this. The first real Man is a fellow few people know.

His name is ... Craig Ferguson.

Oh, before I continue... I would like to emphasize one thing. A "real Man" isn't a label applied to a person for an entire lifetime. More often than not, it's one thing that a person did at one point in his life where he went beyond what was asked of him. If I introduce someone, it does not mean that he has lived as a real Man all his life. He could even have lived not according to my definition 99% of the time, but in that 1% he has personified it.

Now, on to Craig...

Few people know this individual. He's a late night talk show host... Actually, he's a late late night talk show host at CBS. The same network as David Letterman. What does Ferguson have that he makes my list? He has a genuine warmth and honesty in the way he acts around people--interviewees and audience alike. And because of this, he is gaining a lot of followers.

He also has a big heart. He does not do his talk show for ratings. He will say things honestly and be honest to his viewers. He loves them and they love him back. And here is a guy who will follow his heart even if it means at the expense of things a lot will consider precious--his job, career, money, etc. How many people can do that?

Here's a video of him. He speaks from his heart. And thus, he gets on my list of real Men. If you watch it a few times, you'll get a feel for the character of this guy.

Below is another video of him. This time from a show just after his father died.
