That Unforgettable Night

It was easily my most physically painful night...

I looked at the wall clock. It read 2:36am. For 5 hours, I have been vomitting like crazy. Judging from the amount that I have purged, last night's dinner was all gone 2 hours ago. Whatever I'm was still vomitting, only God knows.

My stomach started aching at around 9pm and I figured it must be just a small deal and I can just sleep over it. Now, I'm thinking of how to get to the hospital. What made the situation worse is that my closest friend was in another place 2 hours away. How did I end up here? All alone in this alien town?

I suited up and walked slowly toward the parking lot behind the apartment building. God, it's cold. I already had 3 layers of clothing and it was still cold. It's not as bad as the eery silence all around. There's absolutely no one awake.

The pain was excrutiating. I couldn't walk very fast and one hand was holding my aching belly. I hope I don't vomit on my way.

I got into my car and reached for the glove compartment. It was a lot of effort just to stretch out a bit and get this folded piece of paper. I unfolded a map of the town to figure out exactly where the hospital is. The map was drawn in a kiddie sort of way, which I noticed made me upset since it was hard to see where the hospital is.

I drove into the town's main road. For some reason, I was hoping to catch a glimpse of a police car or something.

But there was none. It was like a ghost town.

After getting lost for a few minutes, I finally found the hospital. My stomach was so painful I was surprised I didn't pass out from the pain. I quickly knocked into the hospital door, which was locked. It took the guard a couple of painstaking minutes to open it.

I told the nurse about the whole ordeal. The doctor came afterwards and he pumped out all the contents of my stomach and injected some fluids. I then drove back and was glad I can fall asleep peacefully.

Looking back, it was a trying time, but these days, it's a good story for laughs.
The doctor said that I may have to change my diet forever, like no spicy or greasy foods. Pizza has turned me off, since it's makes my stomach queasy. And I have gotten a new found appreciation for milk which I drink whenever I can.

good to hear you're fine. was it really because of what you ate? next time don't try something new so far away.

Yeah bmac, it was what I ate. Expired na pala, and I didn't check the date. I was motivated to write about this ordeal kasi these days, my stomach isn't stable. The doctor said my stomach is permanently damaged.

Hehehehe.

What's ironic is it might save my life... Because I need to stay away from unhealthy food.
