Downtown Seattle.

It's more or less been a month since I started working in downtown. I like the atmosphere. I had a talk with a friend of mine, Noreen, regarding the difference between downtown Seattle, and Redmond, and we share the same feelings.

Though Redmond has a lot of people, they're usually in high priced cars. There's a certain disconnect among people in Redmond simply because it's rare to find someone walking down the street. Redmond feels like--as my friend puts it--a ghost town compared to downtown Seattle.

In downtown, you see a lot of people walking along the streets, it feels like a true city. And there are a lots more places to see, a lot more happenings. Even the nightlife is alive. If you're a party animal, this is the place to be.

Not to mention, there are lots more eye candy here, compared to nerd-central Redmond. Now, I begin to wonder if people there are aware of how much they're missing.

The vibrancy of downtown alone makes me re-think of whether to come back to Microsoft. There's a certain smugness to it that ultimately alienates the outsiders. Whereas downtown embraces you with a smile and open arms.
