There are certain things that stay with you no matter what. Memories or feelings that even as you grow old, they’re still there. And at times, you even yearn for them. And the funny thing is that they’re so mundane, it’s so hard to see that during that time, they’re the best things that life has to offer.
When I was still in college, I used to buy morning pandesal in our university cooperative. I don’t know why, but thinking about it gives me the same fondness that you get when you reminisce your childhood memories.
I would usually come to UP (University of the Philippines) in the early hours of morning. You can still feel the cool morning air as the sun has just recently risen. I would park at the back of COOP (that’s what we call our university’s cooperative). Then, as I got out of my car, I just enjoy the pleasant aroma of pandesal being baked. I would buy a few of them, and eat them to my heart’s delight. They’re some of the best tasting pandesal I’ve had.
